I just got one question… whatever happened to Constitutional guarantees of a speedy trial? Kody Patten is arrested on March 6th, is held in Elko County Jail and doesn’t even get an indictment until August 2nd? That’s not what the framers had in mind by a speedy trial.
I’m certainly not defending what evil this pair committed. Just the same, all you West Wendover High Schoolers should jot down notes for some serious life lessons… it is NEVER in your best interests to cooperate with the authorities. Simply make it a personal policy not to talk to police about anything. Case in point, the last time I cooperated with police was over a lethal drug overdose in Elko. Because of the information I volunteered, they impounded my car and made my life miserable for a few days. Never again.
