The West Wendover wrestlers pulled off an amazing feat this past Saturday in Ely at the division tournament. Coach Mike Beardall says, “This is the first time in Wolverine history that the entire wrestling team has qualified for state. I am very proud of these young men.” The Wolverine wrestlers placed 3rd in the Division.
Nine wrestlers finished 4th place or better to advance to the state tournament in Reno this Friday and Saturday. Carlos Trujillo, 2nd place-(126). Chris Mendez, 4th place-(145). Albert Brain, 4th place-(152). Rustin Rubino, 3rd place- (160). Logan Gregory, 2nd place-(170). Alonzo Mendoza, 2nd place-(182). Danny Galaviz, 2nd place- (195). Gary Rippetoe, 1st place-(220). *Moises Prieto, 2nd place-(285).
