A Salt Lake City man who briefly tasted freedom is back in custody after escaping from an unlocked West Wendover police cruiser Monday morning.
24-year-old John A. Ramirez-Juarez was arrested Monday after first running a stop sign and then being found in possession of drug paraphernalia. Ramirez was cuffed and put into the back seat of the cruiser but once inside he was sober enough to notice that the electronic window still worked.
In a feat of daring do Ramirez lowered the window and climbed out of the car.
He didn’t get far on his own but with police help he made it all the way to the Elko County Jail.
