An elderly Sacramento couple were killed in a fatal one car rollover eight miles west of Wells Monday reported the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Bonifacio Mireles, 81 and wife Viola Mireles 77 were pronounced dead at the scene Monday afternoon shortly after their 2004 Crown Victoria sedan was found eight miles west of Wells on Interstate 80.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly before 4 pm. The driver, Bonifacio Mireles, allowed the Ford to drive off the south roadway edge where it struck a road marker. Mireles swerved the Ford to the left causing the vehicle to rotate in a counter-clockwise direction as it crossed both eastbound lanes. The vehicle entered the dirt median where it overturned. The vehicle came to rest on it top in the median. Both the driver and passenger, who were wearing seat belts, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
