An ill timed pass proved fatal for two men Friday in a head on collision north of Wells.
According to Nevada highway patrol reports Kenny Laroy Anderson, 39, of Spring Creek and Craig Steven Hakala, 49, of Twin Falls were pronounced dead at the scene following a head on collision on US 93.
Anderson driving a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse was traveling south bound, the report continues, when he attempted to pass a slower moving semi. He instead collided with a north bound 1994 ford Explorer driven by Hakala.
Kimberly Anne Anderson, age 38, from Spring Creek, was a passenger in the Eclipse. She sustained critical injuries and was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in Twin Falls, Idaho.
All occupants were wearing their seat belts.
