The West Wendover Police Department recognized two employees at the regular meeting of West Wendover City Council on April 15, 2014.
Toni Corona has been employed with the police department for nearly 14 years and was recognized for her recent promotion to Administrative Assistant. Toni has worked closely with all of the officers, police department administration and other city departments in order to adjust the services of the police department to meet the needs of the citizens of the city of West Wendover. Toni works hard to maintain the professional image of the police department and educates the public that she interacts with on the services provided by the city.
Shannon Baker has been with the police department communication center since 2007 and was recognized for her recent promotion to Lead Dispatcher. Shannon has recently taken on tasks such as updating and re-structuring the communication center training program; revising current policy and procedures to meet the needs of the department; and replacing outdated equipment with modern technologies. Shannon supervises six full time employees in the communication center, which runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
