A diminutive Salt Lake woman is in hot water after biting a West Wendover Police officer trying to remover her from the Nugget Casino, Monday.
According to a WWPD press release officers were called to the casino and asked to escort Andrea Kirstine, 32, of Salt Lake City after she refused to leave the casino by security.
The four foot nine inch tall, Kirstine was escorted from the casino to a patrol vehicle. While en route to the awaiting vehicle Andrea began to resist by refusing to walk on her own and becoming verbally abusive towards the officers. During this time, Kirstine kicked one of the officers that were escorting her to the patrol vehicle.
Kirstine was taken to the West Wendover Police department where she was being prepared for a transport to the Elko county jail. While being placed into restraints, Kirstine was able to get one hand free. When officers began to gain control of Andrea she bit one of the officers on the hand.
Kirstine was eventually secured and transported to the Elko county jail and booked on the original charge of trespassing, along with additional charges of battery on a police officer (Felony).
The officer sustained a minor injury to the hand from the bite. No other injuries were received by officers or Kirstine.
