A pint sized blonde from Montello took on a contingent of Elko County Sheriff’s Deputies last week and ended up in jail on a $10,685 bail for her efforts.
Danielle Thompson, 28, of Montello was arrested on three counts of assaulting a police officer, one count of attempting to escape and on count of giving false information to a police officer last week after deputies were summoned to her home by her boyfriend.
“He told us she was suicidal,” said Elko under Sheriff Clair Morris. “But she wasn’t exactly despondent when our three deputies arrived.”
In fact Morris said the 5’ 4” woman took all three of them on, punching kicking and fighting while they tried to arrest her. Finally after the struggle she was bundled into the police vehicle and driven off to jail. But Thompson was not finished.
“She slipped her cuffs and tried to kick out the window,” Morris added. “The deputies had to stop and re-cuff her.”
Despite the melee no deputy was seriously injured Morris said. As for Thompson she is in the Elko County Jail but not under suicide watch, Morris said
