Ely City Councilman Marty Westland continued his one man crusade against the Northern Nevada Railroad. He is again putting the jobs of two NNRY bard members on the agenda for this week’s council meeting.
According to the council agenda item, Westland calls for the replacement of NNRY Board members John Gianoli and Randy Larsen for not being appointed properly to the board.
“Shouldn’t Marty get a life instead of bothering the railroad?” said one employee who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
For over a year Westland has so far unsuccessfully attacked the railroad operations alleging mis, mal or nonfeasance.
Westland was an employee of the railroad but was fired for incompetence six years ago.
After trying to supplant the organization with his own company, Westland ran and won a seat on the city council and continued his efforts to undermine the NNRY.
