The patriarch of a northern Nevada fireworks family, Gabriel “Red” Cassorla passed away on November 28 at 99 years old.
Cassorla was predeceased by his wife, Sarah and sister, Hannah Confino. He is survived by his loving sons, Earl and Steven; brothers, Morris and Joseph (Francine) and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cassorla was a former owner of Central Wholesale Grocery Corp.
13 years ago Red and sons moved west to Battle Mountain to open the Roller Coaster Fire Works.
Although the town in Nevada’s High Desert may not be everyone’s cup of tea on the outside, inside Roller Coaster is paradise. Anything anyone could want from mild to wild are on the shelves of the store in a remarkable pean to what is quickly becoming a bygone era: the back yard fireworks show.
