The West Wendover Wolvering Academic Olympic Team got off to a strong start this season in Ely going 1-1.
The Academic Olympics were begun in 1980. In the competition teams of six students per school are asked a variety of questions in a variety of topics ranging from trigonometry to the Bible and everything in between.
There are two rounds in each match players in between rounds. This year’s AOT is coached by teachers Sue Grenz and Rex Schoolcraft and is lead by Capitan Blaine Becker (far left). Other members of the team include(left to right) : Colton Smith, Zach Spencer, Louie Copelan, Jesus Rosales , Macario Mendoza.
