A call to police about an assault with a fire arm found no weapon but some drugs, reported the West Wendover Police.
On March 22 officers responded to a report of an assault with a weapon. The victim of the incident claimed that Shawn Ratliff, 19 of West Wendover, Nevada, had brandished a firearm and threatened to shoot him. The victim said that Shawn had left the area riding on a scooter prior to police arrival.
Ratliff was later located for an interview. During the interview he denied having a firearm or ever being in possession of a firearm. Ratliff was checked for weapons in his possession. No weapons were located however Ratliff was found to be in possession of a schedule 1 narcotic. Ratliff was with another male identified as Advil Denslow-Castillo, 23, of Bountiful, Utah. Castillo consented to a search of his person and was also found to be in possession of a schedule 1 narcotic. Both subject were taken into custody without incident.
The original investigation began with the alleged assault with a deadly weapon. After interviews with witnesses and both parties involved the charge could not be coo berated immediately and still remains under investigation.
