A Utah couple was arrested Monday after allegedly threatening police who had been called by Nugget Casino Security to take them off property
According to West Wendover Police reports Lewis Swafford and Samantha Burgener both 24 and both of Sandy, Utah were detained by Wendover Nugget hotel/casino security and asked to leave the property for an undisclosed reason.
When the couple refused, police were called and the two were escorted from the Nugget to their room at the Montego Bay Casino across the street.
When the pair along with police officers arrived at their hotel room officers detected the presence of possible narcotics within the room. A request to search the room was granted which resulted in the collection of a small amount of marijuana. Both Swafford and Burgener were charged suspicion of unlawful possession of marijuana. During this incident Lewis made statements to the officer that was deemed to be threatening, therefore Lewis was also charged with intimidation of a police officer.
