The radio station Wendover residents may have never known they will change ownership this month for a possible Spanish language only format.
The station KVUW began in the late 1990’s but apart from a very brief period in the early 2000’s it has been off the air except for two weeks in spring when it broad-casted to keep its FCC license.
It was owned by a Robert Silverberg base in New England. According to the details of the sales agreement KVUW the station was purchased by Albino and Alexandra Ortega. The couple own a small Spanish language radio station in Boise, Idaho.
The total cost of KVUW was listed as $150,000.
