A still unexplained power outage in Wendover this weekend may have been the culprit behind the shutdown of digital phone service last weekend.
The power outage occurred Saturday evening. According to Wells Rural Electric offices the blackout was sourced to Idaho Powers coverage area in southern Idaho. While electrical power was restored within the half hour the surge when the lights came back on may have stressed the digital phone network operated by Centracom.
Phone service went out in the late morning hours of Sunday and phone service was restored Monday morning. No other service offered by Centracom was affected.
