Last weekend marked the first big time wins for West Wendover High School Sports with the volleyball team traveling to Ely for a tournament and both girls and boys soccer traveling to spring creek for their tournaments.
The boys soccer team went untouched with not a single goal made against them. Their scores were 4-0 against Battle Mountain, 8-0 against Elko high school’s JV and 4-0 against Spring Creek’s JV. ald’s Varsity Boys Soccer Player of the Week

Helped her team go 2-1 in the Spring Creek Jamboree
She played goalie and had 12 saves in 3 games
The girl’s volleyball team placed third in their 2-day tournament in Ely, behind Lincoln who took second and White Pine who took first. The team had been in the lead oagainst White Pine, last year’s runner-up, through most of the tournament and had only lost to them just near the end. The team just barley missed going to the finals by one point to Lincoln on their final round. However, this marked the first time the West Wendover volleyball team defeated Battle Mountain, who took fourth, in over eight years, since before the tenure head coach Mikel Beardall.
