A NOON TIME LOCK DOWN OF BOTH THE WEST WENDOVER ELEMENTARY AND THE WEST WENDOVER HIGH SCHOOL WAS LIFTED. ACCORDING TO SCHOOL SPOKESMEN THE LOCKDOWN PROCEDURE WAS INITIATED AFTER THREATS WERE DELIVERED. THE PROCEDURE WAS PRECAUTIONARY.

On September 03, 2015 West Wendover police officers responded to the West Wendover Elementary School to take a report of threats made to school personnel.
Officers learned that a parent of one child that attends the school had called to speak with school personnel and had made threatening statements during the conversation. Extra security measures were taken by staff and police to ensure the safety of all the children. The parent who allegedly made the threats was located at their residence and interviewed. The parent denied making any threats toward the school or its staff.
All students and staff remained in school with minimal interruptions to the day. A report has been completed and will be sent to the Elko county district attorney for review of any applicable charges.
I hope this parent is dealt with by the Courts. I now know first hand the verbal abuse this child is subject to by the male parent. Verbal abuse is the worst of the worst. I pray for this child.
I was angered to learn of this in the paper a week after the fact. A week after it happened. It didn’t take long for me to put two and two together and I knew who made the threats. He is a pathetic lowlife piece of trash that is an all around loser. He’s bitter, angry, and full of hate. I fear for the safety of his son. This man is desperate, and I can see the outcome being much like that of Josh Powell as he murdered his sons in cold blooded desperation. Family court has not taken this divorce and custody case very seriously. Someone like this should never be allowed to see the light of day. He must be arrested before he kills his ex wife and/or his son.
I agree with you Holliday. Wendover has seen (1) to may tragedies. Lets hope the Police and District Attorney moves fast on this.
At one time I was a advocate of this man. Well he fooled me for over a year. I believed him until he proved otherwise and he did show his true nature after all testimony had been given and the court case was over. If I had to testify now it would be allot different than what the Judge then heard. This man has cunningly used and abused the system and at least one advocate. Please protect this little boy !!
At this moment, I am fighting to convince the mother of her rights outside what the family judge has already ordered. As far as I’m concerned, he no longer has rights to J. He list those the day her threatened to harm the teacher along with the kids in her class. That is a terroristic threat, and someone capable of making such a threat already has it in his head to act on it. Are our children safe in our schools with him out on the streets? I don’t feel they are. Considering who I am to this child, and the crazed accusations made against me in court (claiming I’m stalking the person in question and my dangerous dogs), my door is now being locked at night whereas I didn’t have to prior to the threats. And my firearm is no longer in the safe at night. I fear for my family and for J, but especially for J. I’ve seen firsthand what people like him are capable of. Visitation must stop for him IMMEDIATELY. He will kill his son just to spite the mother.
I just got off the phone with the District Attorneys office. The District Attorney had declined to prosecute. However, we can change this. We all need to write a letter to the Elko County District Attorney and Demand action against him of Pilot Nevada. He threatened to “go Sandy Hook” on his sons teacher And the children in class. This cannot be ignored!!
