The boys and girls soccer team took first place at last weekend’s White Pine tournament, with the boys team containing unscathed with not a single goal made against them this year. Their remarkable defense is helped by Anthony Gonzales, this weeks McDonald’s player of the week for boy’s soccer. The girls team had also beat Pershing County at the championship last week, with help from the girls soccer player of the week, Felisha Valenzuela. League play for soccer will start Friday and Saturday.
Volleyball went to Battle Mountain this past weekend for a tournament with the Varsity team taking third in their pod and fifth overall, and JV taking first in their pod and third overall. Itzel Gomez and Cody Cook both played well last week being McDonald’s players of the week. The girls played Wells for a home game this Tuesday, with the JV losing only by a few points both matched and the Varsity winning 4/5 matches and taking the win.
Other McDonald’s Players of the week are Luis Correa for football, Giovana Sevilla for Cheerleading, Sarah Isaacs for girls golf, and Joel Rodriguez for Cross Country.
