Last week we were going to mark our year anniversary of coming out of our very near death experience and awakening from a coma but we got gloriously busy.
Our daughter Anna and her sons, our grandsons came for a visit and frankly we just were not in the mood to even think abut our little health troubles of a year ago.
Kites had to be flown and kittens had to be petted and trains had to be ridden, stories had to be read.
We had to play.
Play is serious work for an almost four year old and an almost two year old and they took to it like ducks to water.
Which reminds us that they went to the duck pond too.
We also saw rainbows and splashed in puddles.
To think a year ago doing those things would have been impossible heck six months ago they would have been damned difficult.
But last week we clicked our heels as our grandsons ran across the grass.
Yes it has been a year since we met death.
So what?
It is good to be alive today.
So much for retrospection.
It seems as though the Obama administration is finally coming to the realisation that the Islamic world view is not the same as ours.
We aren’t sure what happened but it looks like the light may have finally gone on.
We had hoped it would have gone on sooner, say like before the Russians invaded Syria or before Iraq ceased to exist as a country but better late than never.
The only question is now what?
