On January 08, 2016 West Wendover officers responded to the Montego Bay hotel on a report of located drug paraphernalia. The items were located in a room where the tenants(Sahar Hourieh and Brandon Dente) had left their property behind after their check out time had passed.
With the assistance of West Wendover Police Department’s K9 “Jezzie”, officers were able to locate several items of narcotics paraphernalia. Also located in the room were prescription bottles with Alprazolam, small amounts of methamphetamine.
With assistance from surveillance operators, the search for the couple began. On the following day, January 09, both subjects were located on the casino floor by security. Officers were summoned and both were taken into custody.
During the arrest, a false identification card and matching players card were located on Dente. Dente was charged with the possession of a false identification along with the various drug-related charges.
On January 10, 2016, officers responded to the Peppermill Casino to assist security with a subject who had been detained for attempting to cash a possibly fraudulent check. Melissa Benson had presented the check to a cashier, who notified security. The check was examined and later determined to be fraudulent. Benson had also possessed a fraudulent identification card in an attempt to cash the check. She was taken into custody without incident.
On January 13, Lonnie Martinez, 59, from Evanston, WY, was arrested at the Rainbow Casino for Domestic Battery and Drugs Possession, with a total bail of a total of $33,000.00
