The West Wendover Wolverines had a great weekend for winter sports. Last Friday on the fifth, the Wolverine basketball teams travelled to Yerington. The boys’ varsity team lost with a score of 39-59, the boys’ JV team won with a score of 53-51, the girls’ varsity team lost with a score of 35-40, and the girls’ JV team won with a score of 45-41. Then next day, the boys’ teams went to Hug High School in Reno. The varsity team won with a score of 75-27, and the JV team won with a score of 52-30. The girl’s JV played against ROP, and won with a score of 41-15. The Northern League Division III Basketball Tournament will be held at West Wendover High School on February 19th and 20th, with the games beginning at 3:00 pm.
The West Wendover wrestling team finished second at the league duels. They held the Wrestling League Championships on Saturday, February 13th, at West Wendover High School. Results of the meet are not yet in.
