West Wendover’s men’s 4×800 meter relay team was not the only ones who did well at the meet. Jaxon Carter took first in men’s discus, throwing 119’ 6 1/6”. Jorge Aguirre, the 4×800 team’s anchor, also took first in the men’s 1600 meter race, and Raul Ruiz took third in the same event. Colton Smith took third in the open 800 meter race, and the men’s 4×100 meter relay team took third. All in all, the West Wendover Wolverine track team had been doing well this season, and looks to send its athletes to state after the team goes to divisionals, which begins on May 13 in Boulder City, Nevada ( correction from the printed version who said May 20).
