Eastern Nevada Interagency Fire Management wishes you and yours a happy and safe Independence Day holiday, and encourages you to be fire-aware when engaging in outdoor activities. Please take the following precautions:
• Drive only on open roads and trails
• Stop and check beneath your vehicle for brush and grass that can ignite and spread a wildfire
• Unload and load your ATV in an open or cleared area
• Install and maintain functioning spark arresters on all small engines and equipment
• Keep campfires small and the surrounding area clear of brush and debris
• Have water and a shovel within easy reach. Drown all campfires, stir the ashes and check for heat
At the first sign of a wildfire, contact the Eastern Nevada Interagency Fire Management dispatch center at (775) 289-1925 or call 911.
