Dear friends

and associates,

I am attempting to start an email chain letter to inform Nevadans to vote YES on Ballot Question #4 in November.  I apologize for the inconvenience, but you are either a friend or associate (or both) that I have an email address for.

A successful YES vote on Question #4 will help to stop taxes on Nevadans that are sick, injured and dying.  These are sales taxes on physician ordered home medical equipment such as hospital beds, ventilators, oxygen equipment, infant apnea monitors, sleep apnea equipment, wheelchairs and other mobility equipment just to name a few.  Most of these patients cannot work or have lost their jobs due to their disability.

For those that would object due to any reduction in the state’s revenue please let me say that this amounts to a mere .00025 of the state’s revenue budget.  Both the cities of Las Vegas and Reno have officially stated that this loss of revenue would be “immaterial”*.  However, it is not immaterial for the quadriplegic that must pay hundreds of dollars in sales tax for his custom electric wheelchair or the parents of children with asthma or respiratory disease that must pay sales tax on everything from nebulizers to ventilators.

I would ask each of you to please forward this email to your Nevada friends and associates and ask them to do the same.  If you are fortunate enough to be a VIP, manager or owner of a company I would also ask you to please forward this request to your Nevada employees.

These poor patients have suffered physically.  Let’s stop the sales tax on their medical equipment from making them suffer financially as well.

Sincerely,

Doug Bennett, Officer
