The Eastern Nevada Narcotic Task Force with the assistance of the White Pine County Sheriff’s Office and Nevada Highway Patrol arrested Michael A. Valencia age 33 of McGill, and Zechariah Smith age 25 of California, after Detectives conducted a search warrant of an Ely residence in the late evening hours of August 26, 2016. The search warrant resulted in the recovery of several items of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. As a result of the investigation Valencia and Smith were charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a felony and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Valencia and Smith are being held on $60,000.00 bail at the White Pine County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Building. More arrests are pending from this investigation.
The Task Force is comprised of the, White Pine County Sheriff’s Office, Eureka County Sheriff’s Office, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and Nevada Department of Public Safety, Investigation Division.
