The Civil Air Patrol is sponsoring a Salute to American Heroes on Friday, November 11th at the Service Club at the Historic Wendover Airfield. The event will begin at 6:00 pm. Included in the program will be honors to local veterans and their families, remembering those who have passed, and a highlight will be the recognition of guests as the service songs from the five services are played. This year’s guest speaker will be Conner Campbell, a senior at Salem High School who recently won the Speech Contest at the 2016 Freedom Academy.
In addition, music and an American Flag will be retired that evening. Following the flag retirement, refreshments will be served. The public is invited and there is no charge to attend. Cadets will be on hand to help any who might need assistance entering or leaving the building.
