Philosopher Camus wrote “Always go too far, because that’s where you will find the truth.”

According to the last U.S. Census, White Pine County has a population of 10,000. Included in this count is 1200 possible prison or jail beds.  This leaves 8,800 tax paying (men, women and children) population in the county. The question I have is what total amount should we be paying county employees?  Should it be $4,000,000., $5,000,000, $6,000,000?

You see I think the part of budgeting is the county needs to consider the number of people paying taxes and the amount of income each citizen has on average, before they decide on a budget item as large as this one. Think about it.

Now that you’re thinking about the payroll of the county, here are some facts.

The White Pine County quarterly report on salary and wages for April 1, 2016 to June 30, 2016 is $1,666,972.43, over time $37,173.29, retirement $440,260.68, group insurance $254,511.56, Pact $150,148.68, Medicare 23,543.39, social security $2,972.70. These are the amounts that the county pays out for employees four times a year. The annual salaries and wages are $7,149,669.08.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau the population for White Pine County in 2015 was 9,811. This shows a decrease in the population from 2010 of 2.2%, 15.4% are seniors over the age of 65, 21.3% Are people under 18 years of age.

Per capita income for 12 months is $25,857.

I didn’t leave bodybuilding until I felt that I had gone as far as I could go. It will be the same with my film career. When I feel the time is right, I will then consider public service. I feel that the highest honor comes from serving people and your country. Arnold Schwarzenegger
