Police arrested an Owyhee man Sunday on several counts, including a gun charge, but the case may not stay local.
Tharon Abel, 22, of Owyhee was arrested on Adobe Summit for a driver disobeying a police officer; operating an unregistered vehicle, trailer or semi, speeding; 21-30 mph over the posted limit; possession of less than one ounce of marijuana; driving without a driver’s license; NCJIS retainer; possessing a gun by a prohibited person; and littering.
Police did not provide further details of the arrest.
“I cannot release any information on that at the moment,” said Elko police Lt. Rich Genseal. “This may be more far reaching, it may go federal.”
His bail was set at $23,755. The investigation continues.
