Last January, two West Wendover officers Fernando Uribe and Miguel Pantelakis were sworn in at the West Wendover City meeting by local municipal Judge Brian Boatman.

Also Police Officer Pete Turner received a recognition plaque for 10 Years of Service from Police Chief Burdel Welsh.

   Fernando Uribe was born in Elko Nevada, and his family moved to Wendover when he was three months old. He graduated from West Wendover High School and went to Carson City Police Academy for 16 weeks (about four months), which he graduated last January 2016.

        Miguel Pantelakis was born in Mexico, moved to America when he was 14 years old. He graduated from Tooele High school, in Tooele Utah, and then joined the Marines where he served for 15 years. He came to Wendover in 2013, and like Uribe did the Police Academy in Carson City, which he graduated mid-November 2016.
