This week’s Sheriff’s Corner I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate Deputy Chase Odgers and Deputy Ernie Rivera III on graduating from the Nevada Peace’s Officers Standards and Training (POST Academy). Both deputies graduated from the academy on November 16. The graduation ceremony was held in Carson City, NV where both deputies received there POST certificates. Deputy Odgers and Rivera went through an extensive training program for seventeen weeks at the POST Academy in Carson City. Training included, physical fitness, emergency vehicle operation, law and legal procedures, firearms training, patrol operations and procedures, defensive and arrest control tactics, functions of police officers and numerous other training courses. Both deputies earned high remarks from their training supervisors. Both deputies will be assigned to work as patrol deputies. The Sheriff’s Office once again congratulates Deputy Odgers and Rivera on their accomplishments and look forward to having them represent White Pine County.

REPORT OF A FRAUD
City — reporting party stated that someone had gained access to her banking account and had made several withdraws without her permission. Investigation into the incident continues.
REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT
Michael J. Rowley of Ely was operating a vehicle traveling on Ave I. He failed to maintain his lane of travel and struck a parked vehicle belonging to Jeremy Romero of Ely. An accident report was completed.
REPORT OF AN ACCIDENT
Officer received a report of a motorcycle accident that had occurred in a dirt lot. Officer contacted the operator of the motorcycle who stated that he was fine and requested no assistance.
REPORT OF A WELFARE CHECK Officer contacted the individual and reported that during his contact with her she was identified as Julie Buhler age 39 of Ely. Officer reported that Buhler was arrested for possession of a dangerous weapon.
REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH A SUBJECT
Reporting party stated that she was driving her vehicle on a city roadway when an individual threw an item at her car. Officer contacted the person who had thrown the item and identified him as Ronnie J. Barton age 30 of Ely. Barton was arrested for injury to property and throwing an item at a motor vehicle.
