NOTICE

The West Wendover Recreation District will be accepting names for a vacated board member position.  The position will run until December 31, 2018.  Interested parties must be a registered voter and resident of West Wendover and should provide written notice (in the form of a letter) to be delivered to the West Wendover Recreation District, 950 West Florence Way, or to P.O. Box 5010, Wendover, NV, 89883, before 5 p.m. on May 17, 2018, and be in attendance at the regular meeting on May 17, 2018, at 6:00 p.m., at the West Wendover Library, Pilot Peak Meeting Room.  The primary responsibility of the District is to administer the obligations of the golf course and recreation facilities bond debt.  The major financial obligations of the District include the operation and maintenance of the Toana Vista Golf Course, the swimming pool, the equestrian park, horse corral rental facility, Scobie Park, the ball fields, and the multi-purpose field.  Please direct any questions concerning the vacancy to Jamey Richardson at 664-3289.

WEST WENDOVER RECREATION DISTRICT OF WRITTEN

REPORT FOR STANDBY SERVICE CHARGE ASSESSMENTS

TO BE ON COUNTY TAX ROLL AND PUBLIC HEARING

 

                  NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that West Wendover Recreation District has resolved to have the West Wendover Recreation District Standby Service Charge collected on the Elko County Tax Roll. A written report was filed with the secretary of the West Wendover Recreation District on April 12th, 2018, describing each parcel of property to be assessed and the amount of the charge for each parcel.

                  NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that copies of the report are available for public examination and distribution upon request at the office of the West Wendover Recreation District, 950 West Florence Way, West Wendover, Nevada.

                  The West Wendover Recreation District intends to take final action on the written report at a regular meeting on Thursday, the 17th, day of May, 2018, at 6:30 p.m., M.D.T., at the West Wendover Public Library, Pilot Peak Meeting Room, 590 Camper Drive, West Wendover, Nevada. The Board, at such time and place, shall hear and consider all objections or protests to the report.

                  IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the West Wendover Recreation District, Nevada has caused this Notice to be given as required by N.R.S. 318.201.

Lifeline Assistance – Who qualifies?

Low-income telephone assistance is available to qualifying low-income Beehive Telephone customers through the “Lifeline” and “Link-up” federal telephone assistance programs. 

Lifeline provides qualified customers with a monthly reduction on their telephone bill.

Link-up assists in paying for the installation of basic telephone service by reducing connection charges by 50% or $30, whichever is less.

Beehive Telephone customers who participate in at least one of the following programs are eligible for telephone assistance: Medicaid, Food Stamps, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Federal Housing Assistance, Nevada Energy Assistance Program (EAP), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families Program (TANF), National School Lunch Program (NSL).

Beehive Telephone customers who do not participate in one of the above programs are eligible if their income is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Frontier provides basic residential services for rates from $6.00 – $15.00 for flat rate service. Frontier also provides basic business services for rates from $9.00 -$27.92. Other taxes, fees, and surcharges may apply. Frontier offers single party service, touch-tone, toll blocking, access to long distance, emergency services, operator assistance, and directory assistance. Use of these services may result in additional charges. Budget or economy services also may be available. Frontier offers Lifeline service which is a nontransferable government assistance program that provides a $9.25 discount on the cost of monthly telephone service or eligible broadband products (where available) and is limited to one discount per household. In addition to Basic Lifeline, individuals living on federally recognized Tribal Lands who meet the eligibility criteria may also qualify for additional monthly discounts through Enhanced Lifeline and up to $100.00 toward installation fees through the Tribal Link-Up program.
