Chief of Police Burdel Welsh Receives Years of Service Plaque and Best Wishes for Retirement

Mayor Pro-tem Jerry Anderson presented Chief of Police Burdel Welsh with a Service Plaque recognizing his 5 years of service to the City of West Wendover at the Regular City Council Meeting on July 17, 2018.  With his resignation Chief Welsh’s last day is July 20th where he will then begin his retirement.  During his time at the City Chief Welsh led many updates to the Police Department including Email accounts for all Department employees, the implementation of cloud based evidence systems, electronic ticketing and body worn cameras, new vehicle fleet for the Department, grants for Department equipment including Off Highway Vehicle and ballistic shields, increased training for personnel and other important updates for the Department moving forward into the future.

The Chief thanked the Elected Officials for the opportunity to have worked as the City’s Chief of Police these past five years and further made comment about what a great Police Department the City has with dedicated officers and staff.

Chief Welsh and his wife Cynthia are in the process of relocating south to begin their retirement and are looking forward to this next adventure in their life.  We wish you the best Burdel and Cynthia and thanks for your service to the community!
