Yesterday Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at approximately 5:45pm, Nevada Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a two vehicle crash on US 93 four miles north of Wells.
Preliminary investigation indicates Mr.Dennis Pickett, age 72, from Glendale, AZ, was driving a Jeep Wrangler southbound on US 93 approaching a Chevy pickup towing a camp trailer. Mr. Pickett allowed the Jeep to cross the centerline and sideswiped the pickup. The pickup and trailer separated upon impact. The Jeep continued to travel southbound and off the east dirt shoulder where it overturned. The pickup continued to travel northbound off the east dirt shoulder and overturned. The driver of the Chevy pickup, Mr. Jimmy Padilla, age 49, from Twin Falls, ID died at the scene. He was wearing his seatbelt.
The driver of the Jeep Wrangler, Mr. Pickett, sustained minor injuries. He was also wearing his seatbelt.
