On Friday, November 9, 2018 the local Wendover Against Intoxicated Teens (W.A.I.T.) Program partnered with The Parents Empowered Prevention Group and Wendover Prevention Group to kick off its second annual 3 on 3 basketball tournament. Approximately 255 kids and parents from the local area flocked to the West Wendover High School to enjoy this free event. Free food and donated prizes were given throughout the night. There were 15 middle school teams and 10 high school teams that competed in this event. The teams scraped and clawed to the top of the bracket to be crowned this year’s winners. Listed below is the Middle School and High School first and second place winners.

During the event the Wendover High School Booster Club made sure to keep the massive crowd well fed. They served 300 hundred hotdogs, 26 pizzas, and various amounts of water and chips. During a brief intermission The Parents Empowered and Wendover Prevention Group had key note speakers (Judge Brian Boatman, West Wendover Fire Captain Danny Kim, and West Wendover High School Student Gunnar Carter); speak to the crowd about the dangers of drugs and alcohol use among teenagers.
