West Wendover police officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic disturbance involving injuries and a suspect with a knife, last Sunday March 17,. Police in West Wendover, Nevada say a woman who attacked her roommate with a kitchen knife and a screwdriver before barricading herself inside of an apartment, may have been high on methamphetamine.
Police say 46-year-old Crystal Sherry Luscan attacked her male roommate with a kitchen knife and a screwdriver, stabbing him in the neck and abdomen. The victim had a laceration to his neck and superficial stab wounds to his abdomen. Medical units responded to render aid; his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
According to police in West Wendover, Luscan barricaded herself inside of an apartment before they arrived on scene.
Luscan had called West Wendover dispatchers while officers were trying to get inside the apartment.
Police tried to talk Luscan into opening the door, but say she refused, so police forced their way inside.
Police say Luscan “failed to comply with commands and drop an object that she was holding” so officers tased her and arrested her.
Neither officers or Luscan were injured, police added.
Luscan was taken to the Elko County Jail and booked for suspicion of battery with a weapon.
Police later served a search warrant on the residence and recovered both the kitchen knife and the screwdriver.
