West Wendover baseball did really good in that last weekend at the Regionals in Yerington. Just for 1 point they could have been going to State.
Coach Gerardo Rodriguez says “1st Game, against Incline Village, we lost 15-5. The pitcher Christian Rodriguez was not doing too well” . “ For the 2nd Game against Battle Mountain, we won 8-7 . It was a good game over all. Through out pitching, and batting starting to come through. For the 3rd Game against Incline, we had great pitching performance by Luis Esparza until the last Inning. Our defense failed. But Christian Rodriguez came back a couple of plays, in the 3rd game and pitched 2 great innings. We score 8 -9 (9 for Incline). From the start(of the season), we didn’t think we would make it. The team was young (Sophomores) and inexperienced. But they improved to give themselves a chance to go to State, for a point spread, one run
