Wendover has a new Practice Manager at Nevada Health Centers.( Inc) Kerrie Preston to operate locally at the Wendover and Jackpot clinics, in Elko County, Nevada. Mrs. Preston worked previously at Nevada Health Centers for 6 years in Carson City were the main office is. Then she moved to San Diego, California to work on the family business for 2 years to help her family. (Asbestos Abatement). But she told us she missed Health care and helping people, and that’s why she came back to Nevada Health Centers in Carson. She believes in their mission Statement”Our goal is Primary Care”. She said:” We are equipped to do emergencies and provide life sustaining care: patient believe they have a heart attack, they come to us, we check them and if necessary call the Ambulance and the paramedics to go to a hospital. The Advocate asked about the short hours of 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, what then about emergencies before or after. Yes, she said we are not trying to be a hospital, we want the locals to be our patients for every day care. We are here for them. The Advocate asked about Medical Marijuana, since we have now a big Marijuana facility in town. She said “You can get prescriptions online from a Doctor, but our company is Federally funded so we cannot prescribe it ourselves” even in Nevada since for the Federal Government it is still unlawful.
Kerrie Preston is married and her husband is here as well. He is a disabled veteran injured during service, they have 2 adult children, one daughter serving in the Air Force in Alaska, and one son, a welder in Carson City, soon to be married to his fiancée who just had their first child this past week.
