The Wendover Girl Scout Troop 247 planned to earn their First Aid badge Monday, February 3rd, but a heating problem at the Library due to bad weather,  got the event rescheduled for this past Monday, February10, 2020. The Troop 247 leader Brenda Little and co-leader Tiffiny Rodeback together with all the girls age 7-8-10-11-12 (3 girls missing) had a very interesting afternoon, learning First Aid from Wendover Ambulance EMT Shania Williams.

Very patiently, Shania showed everybody how to care for a small wound; who to call for a big emergency;  what to do and what not to do while on the phone and waiting for EMTs/ambulance help; how to check for breathing of a person if hard to see; how to turn a person on her/his side if it looks like that person might vomit and keep that person airways open so he/she would not chock(on its own vomit or at the beach on sea water). All the troopers took turn learning and doing, under the supervision and help of Mis Williams.  Later on they all went on the ambulance parked outside in the Library parking lot, and looked how it was equipped for emergencies. The girls had a good time learning and earning their First Aid badge.
