Sunday, February 14, 2021 at around 5:00 p.m. the White Pine County Sheriff’s Office got a call about a burglary that happened at a Ely garage. The Deputy investigating the burglary found out that someone had entered the garage by forcibly breaking a window and door, that many items had been stolen from that garage. While they investigating this incident, the Deputies received information that one of the possible suspects involved was trying to sell the stolen property. Officers identified the suspects involved and were able to obtain search warrants for places they believed the stolen items were located. They recovered several stolen items while serving theses search warrants. Other stolen items were also located in the foothills near Ely where the suspects had hidden them. The suspects were identified as Landon W. Williams age 25 of Ruth and Caleb A. Crampton age 22 of Ely. Williams was arrested for obstructing a police officer, burglary, destruction of property, possession of stolen property, and petit larceny. His bail was set at $10,000. Crampton was arrested for Burglary, destruction of property, possession of stolen property, petit larceny, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $20,000. Deputies reported that this investigation is ongoing and that more arrests are to come from this incident. The Sheriff’s Office is being assisted in this investigation by the Eastern Nevada Narcotics Task Force and the Nevada Department of Investigations.
