crashA Wendover man, on his way to the funeral of his beloved younger brother, was one of the first on the scene of a potentially fatal accident on I-80.

Cash Glenn was on his way to Elko last Thursday night when he saw two crashed vehicles on the median of Interstate 80 about 15 miles west of Wendover.

“I must have arrived only a couple of minutes after the crash,” he told the High Desert Advocate Wednesday. “There was a semi and another vehicle already there. One man was shining his flash light to warn on coming traffic. I almost hit him when I pulled to a stop.”

Glenn moved his car safely off the road way and ran to the scene of the crash. Glenn ran from vehicle to vehicle and found a family of a father and four children sitting on the ground next to the overturned van.

“I asked if everyone was okay. They spoke mostly Spanish, luckily I was driving with my girl friend and her mother who is also Hispanic. She translated for me.” Glenn continued. “I saw there was a woman who was still in the van. I helped her get out of the vehicle.”

zapterAccording to Nevada Highway Patrol reports, the two car crash involved a Jeep Cherokee towing a Ford Explorer, both vehicles contained members of the Solario family. The Explorer crashed into the Cherokee and then went into the median pulling the Cherokee with it. The father, Jesus Meza-Garcia and three of the children  Alandra aged 18 and a boy and a girl aged one and three escaped major injury. A 10 year old boy was taken to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City,  Tesnia Solario aged 40 was air lifted to the University of Utah Hospital.

Seth Glenn a 2012 graduate of West Wendover High School was killed Saturday in an Idaho mining accident.

According to police reports , Seth Bryant Glenn, died at the scene of injuries he received when he was crushed between a parked pickup truck and a large tracked vehicle transporting a drill. Glenn was employed by National EWP, and had worked for the company for several years, according to the sheriff.

Seth Glenn 23 was a new father and recently engaged to be married.
