A construction worker staying in Wendover was ripped off by a woman he helped the night before reported West Wendover Police.
Sunday morning West Wendover officers responded to the Red Garter casino to take a theft report. Police learned that a guest had several items of personal property taken from his hotel room. The victim explained that he had met Angella Rojas-Rojas on who was looking for gas money. The victim went with Rojas to the Pilot Truck stop across the street and filled her gas tank. The two parted ways with Rojas promising to bring her benefactor a home cooked breakfast the next morning. True to her word she arrived at her soon to be victim’s hotel room. The man thanked her and shortly later left for work.
Upon returning from work the victim found several electronic items missing from his hotel room.
Officers reviewed surveillance footage and were able to observe a female matching Rojas-Rojas description entering and leaving the room several times. Other potential witnesses also told officers that a female matching the description of Rojas-Rojas was trying to sell items that matched what was being reported as stolen.
Rojas-Rojas was later located on October 12, 2015 and interviewed. She was taken into custody for alleged burglary and grand larceny. Some of the items that were reported stolen have been recovered. Officers are continuing their investigation to recover the rest of the property. Total bail was set at $50,000.
