“During the course of nine months, the course of one school year, five Wendover area students went from high school graduation to graduating from a different sort” says Karen Shepherd, the proud mother of Landyn Shepherd, who just graduated from The Marine Corps.
She continues:”Private Trujillo graduated from West Wendover High School while his best friend Private Shepherd graduated from Wendover High School. They both attended Marine Corps Recruit Training in San Diego, CA., for 13 weeks. Now, they Graduated and became officially United States Marines.”
Landyn Shepherd and Carlos Trujillo both entered the Marine Corps Recruit Depot November 9, 2015 and thirteen weeks later graduated as Privates in the United States Marine Corps. Private Shepherd graduated from the 3255 LIMA Co. 3rd Battalion and achieved his Rifle Sharp Shooter status. Private Trujillo graduated from the 3250 LIMA Co. 3rd Battalion and achieved his Rifle Sharp Shooter status. Private Trujillo will further his training in communications while Private Shepherd will pursue his training in motor vehicle operations.
Also, Damian Valadez entered the Naval RTC Command Great Lakes in Chicago, IL. November 15, 2015 and graduated January 20th, 2016, as a Seaman Apprentice, E-2.

William Connor Kennedy entered the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA, August 25, 2015 and graduated as Private First Class from the Kennedy Hotel Company 2nd Battalion on November 20, 2015. Private Kennedy is currently attending Flight Crew training in Pensacola, FL.
Also Jessica Cuevas entered the Utah National Guard and will be graduating February 27th, 2016.
