Prison officials in Nevada have released a new photo that shows a smiling O.J. Simpson.
The photo from the Nevada Department of Corrections features Simpson wearing a green shirt in front of a red background. Simpson, now 68, has mostly gray hair and a slight grin on his face.
Simpson is serving a sentence of nine years up to 33 years in a Nevada prison for a 2007 armed robbery and kidnapping conviction. He is eligible for parole next year.
The pro football hall of famer was acquitted in October 1995 for the killings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown-Simpson and her companion, Ronald Goldman, but later found liable for the deaths in a civil case. The criminal case has drawn renewed interest this year after being featured in the FX drama, “The People vs. O.J. Simpson.” It is now twenty two years since he was accused of those two murders.
