Utah National Parks like Zion and Bryce Canyon are destinations that draw landscape photographers from around the world. Over the years, professional writer and photographer, Tim Truby, has come to know each of these parks, as any dedicated landscape photographer does. And his books on photographing the Utah national parks are the result of this interest.
The author has put together a photo guidebook of photo tips, trail info, composition and lighting thoughts – the basic location research an enthusiast might find useful. This in-depth research covers 6-8 “classic” shot locations at Zion and Bryce Canyon in Utah(published by Xlibris). Truby’s companion book (available through Xlibris), “Photographing Arches, Canyonlands and Capitol Reef National Parks” offers the same approach for those Utah parks.
Truby’s background as tech industry professional writer taught him to value simple, jargon-free prose. “I want anyone who reads this book (and sees my images) to think about these iconic locations as a photographer does. I especially wanted the text to be like the easy way photo enthusiasts share ideas and tips when they’re shooting together at a location.”
Truby believes this simple approach can make a difference. “Starting to see and think more like a photographer means readers will be more likely to take pictures they’ll be proud to show friends and family,” Truby says. “This photo guidebook is something any level of photographer can rely on.”
