The Girls golf team finished the year by playing in the State tournament.  The first day was played at Toiyabe golf course in Carson City.  The course is nestled in the mountains with narrow fairways surrounded by pine trees.  There are a lot of ups and downs through out with fast greens,  deep bunkers and water throughout the course.  Many of the girls struggled on the first day and recorded higher scores than usual.

Sydney Boatman shot a 111 which was about 17 strokes above her normal average but was only out of 1st place by 6 strokes on day 1.  Rebecca actually shot a personal best of 123 and was tied for 3rd at the end of the first day.  The second day was played at Eagle Valley East course also located in Carson City. The course is a wide open course with a much easier terrain to navigate. Senior Sydney Boatman struggled on the first nine but managed to regroup on the back nine.  Although she was unable to overcome the deficit between her and the leader, she shot final round of 97 and hung on to take 2nd place overall.  Rebecca Wahlstrom picked up right were she left off and shot another personal best round and was able to secure 3rd place all to herself with a round of 108.  Coach Durham is incredibly proud of her girls and was really excited about how well they were able to play down the stretch.  Once again the West Wendover girls golfers are proving they are a force to be reckoned with.
