West Wendover High School Band students Gunnar Carter (12 grade) and Jerrick Carter (11th grade) were selected to be in the 2019 Northeastern Nevada Honor Band in Elko, NV. The selection process involved an audition. They needed to record themselves playing expressive musical excerpts and technical passages. Once completed, these recordings were sent in to be reviewed by Northeastern Nevada band directors. After a long judging process based on playing ability and musicianship, a band of about 70-80 students from the Northeastern Nevada area was selected to perform the concert, led by guest conductor Dr. Robert Belser from the University of Wyoming. Gunnar and Jerrick both made the cut, Gunnar making it in on Trombone, and Jerrick making it in on Alto Saxophone. WWHS is so proud of these boys and the hard work they put in that ultimately paid off. Congratulations to Gunnar and Jerrick!
