Game 1: Yerington Runs Away With Early Lead In Victory

     West Wendover Wolverines Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 21-3 loss to Yerington on Friday. Yerington scored on a stolen base by undefined, an error, a single by Bobb, an error, a triple by Jodsaas, and a wild pitch during Emm’s at bat in the first inning.  The West Wendover Wolverines Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Yerington, giving up 21 runs.  Yerington fired up the offense in the first inning. Emm drew a walk, scoring two runs.

Bobb led things off in the circle for Yerington. She went two innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out three and walking zero.  Asia Gonzalez started the game for West Wendover Wolverines Varsity. She allowed 11 hits and 21 runs over five innings, striking out five.  Alexia Pinedo, Elizabeth DiSpirito, Naydalin Velasquez, and Emma Richards each managed one hit to lead West Wendover Wolverines Varsity.  Yerington racked up 11 hits in the game. Jodsaas, Hallahan, and Sanchez all managed multiple hits for Yerington. Yerington stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Juarez led the way with four.

Game 2:

West Wendover Wolverines Varsity Can’t Hold Up Against Yerington

West Wendover Wolverines Varsity had trouble keeping up with Yerington in a 23-2 loss on Saturday. Yerington scored 12 runs in the third inning. Yerington big bats were led by Davis, Juarez, Jodsaas, Sanchez, Hallahan, and Miller, all knocking in runs in the inning. Davis was in the circle for Yerington. She allowed two hits and two runs over three innings, striking out six. Asia Gonzalez toed the rubber for West Wendover Wolverines Varsity. She surrendered 23 runs on 15 hits over three innings.

Olivia Reamer and Emma Richards each collected one hit to lead West Wendover Wolverines Varsity. Yerington totaled 15 hits in the game. Hallahan, Jodsaas, Juarez, Emm, and Sanchez all collected multiple hits for Yerington. Hallahan led Yerington with three hits in three at bats.

Game 3:

West Wendover Wolverines Varsity Can’t Hold Up Against Yerington

It was a tough day on Saturday for West Wendover Wolverines Varsity, who lost 18-4 to Yerington.  Yerington scored seven runs in the sixth inning. Miller, Emm, Sanchez, and Davis each had RBIs in the big inning.  Murphy led things off on the rubber for Yerington. She lasted three innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out six.  Asia Gonzalez was on the rubber for West Wendover Wolverines Varsity. She went six innings, allowing 18 runs on 11 hits and striking out one.

Hailey Holm led West Wendover Wolverines Varsity with three hits in three at bats.  Yerington tallied 11 hits on the day. Emm, Hallahan, and Sanchez each had multiple hits for Yerington. Emm went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Yerington in hits.
