Northern Nevadans saw a rare but not unheard of June snowfall Tuesday as well as a steep drop in temperatures and high winds.
While the snow was most keenly felt at higher elevations tuesday storm, local temperatures fell over 40 degrees from Monday to below freezing in many locations.
By Wednesday the summer sun returned albeit a bit cooler than the triple digits felt in many locales earlier in the week.
Summer officially begins on June 21. Photo of Pilot Peak taken Tuesday morning by Betty Ghiggia.
