A crowd of just under a 100 people came to see Texas Governor Rick Perry last Friday to kick off the opening of Team Nevada/Romney for President office.
Elko was Perry’s first campaign appearance for the presidential hopeful Mitt Romney
The new Team Nevada office is located at 2140 Idaho St a few stores down from JC Penney.
Perry started on the offensive against President Obama quickly and early citing many broken promises that the president had campaigned in favor of four years ago.

When he campaigned in Elko four years ago Obama pledged to safeguard the 1872 mining law but now the Obama Administration is proposing the largest hard-rock mining tax in the world.
Perry added that the president has been hostile to those who made the backbone of the state from the miners, drillers and ranchers.

Perry also attacked the new health care laws, saying that Americans should help take care of other Americans instead of the government. The new health care law provides a lack of faith in Americans to take care of the sick and poor from the government.
If they control the land and they control access to the land, then they control you, Perry said.
Perry’s campaign tour for Romney comes after Perry ran against Romney for the Republican Party presidential bid before dropping out in January.
Aside from the office in Elko, there are also three other Team Nevada offices in Nevada, one in Las Vegas, one in Henderson and one in Reno. The Republican National Committee hopes to open a dozen more as the date gets closer to November.
