Wendover, Utah Mayor Mike Crawford won re-election this week over challenger LaMar Melville by four votes.
Far from a political slug fest the low key race was marked by both men vocal respect for each other.
“I have known LaMar all my life,” Crawford said in September. “If he wins he will be a good mayor and I will never say anything bad about him.”
During the campaign Melville was just as respectful of Crawford.
“So the unofficial results, which are pretty much the official word, is that I won the Election by just four votes.” Crawford wrote in a facebook post. “So here we go four more years! Also got a call from Lamar, who was running against me, he is and always has been a class act, have loads of respect for that man!”
